Sometimes there's a reason a movie stays in development hell, and from the looks of the teaser poster below, many 'Three Stooges' fans are probably wishing this one had stayed there.
'The Three Stooges' movie once had a stellar cast of Jim Carrey, Sean Penn, and Benecio Del Toro to headline with a nice sized budget but then all that fell apart, and now the cast includes the above, which is a fine one, but since word has been very very quiet on this film, I don't know if they'll be able to give it the life it deserves. This film by the Farrelly Brothers includes Sean Hayes as Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, and Will Sasso as Curly. An obviously much cheaper cast. What I find odd is that this film will be hitting theaters in April 2012, and normally Fox will be slamming everyone with movie stills, clips and whatever other marketing they can, but they're just posting things on the movies Facebook page. This isn't usually a good sign of a studio having much faith in a film. So as you can see the teaser poster above, it's pretty ho-hum. I'm wondering if Fox will just shove this one out to August, the usual dumping grounds for films the studios want to just burn off. [callout title=The Three Stooges Movie Synopsis]Inspired by the original "Three Stooges" shorts from the 1930s, the storyline will follow the trio from when they're orphans and into adulthood. The film will be divided into three half-hour shorts, and the Stooges will get mixed up in plots involving murder and a reality show. In addition to Diamantopoulos, Hayes and Sasso, the supporting cast includes Jane Lynch, Larry David, Sofía Vergara, Jennifer Hudson and Stephen Collins.[/callout] The Stooges are set to hit theaters April 4, 2012, but don't be too surprised if the date changes.
