While there's been plenty of talk about NFL players coming out and the fear of what repercussions will follow, Middle Tennessee State University Alan Gendreau is boldly making it known while trying out for his shot at the majors. Naturally, this has got plenty of people talking and marriage equality is back on the frontburner with politicians.
This has been a long time coming and the only football players who have come out were the ones who had retired for a total of six. Baltimore Ravens Brendon Ayanbadejo got the conversation going as he suggested that several players come out at one time so one person wouldn't have to take the blowback. Gendreau has decided to be his own pioneer and let the National Football League know what they're getting right off the bat. Sadly, there will be a lot of pressure on the man and many will hope for his being turned away, but the NFL is smart enough to know what kind of money can start flowing from the all mighty gay dollar.
